32 arrested in connection to $4.6M drug ring, release says
HUNTINGDON COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — The Huntingdon County District Attorney’s office announced Tuesday in a press release the arrest of 32 suspects involved in two extensive drug rings operating in Huntingdon County.
The release said the arrests come after a lengthy and complex investigation with collaboration among the Pennsylvania State Police, the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, and the Huntingdon County Drug Task Force.

Four decades later, Slap Shot returns to its Johnstown roots
JOHNSTOWN – Four decades later, the iconic movie "Slap Shot" remains a big hit in the hockey world, as well as in Johnstown.
The crazy cast of characters still resonates with viewers.
Hollywood came to Johnstown in the spring of 1976 to begin filming "Slap Shot," a movie starring Paul Newman that was based on some of the antics of the old Johnstown Jets of the former Eastern League and North American Hockey League.

Penn Highlands Healthcare furloughs nearly 600 employees amid COVID-19 crisis: Officials
DUBOIS, Pa. (WJAC) — Penn Highlands Healthcare will furlough nearly 600 employees due to the coronavirus pandemic, officials announced Wednesday.
Chief Operating Officer Mark Norman said the move comes after a decline in visits and revenue.
Norman said the furloughs include:
Penn Highlands DuBois: 338 employees
Penn Highlands Huntingdon: 66 employees
Penn Highlands Elk: 65 employees
Penn Highlands Clearfield: 43 employees
Penn Highlands Brookville: 24 employees
Norman says 49 employees from the corporate office will also be furloughed.

Suspects burglarize Windber Country Club; steal cash from Skill, payout machines
CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Take a look at this! Surveillance video from inside the Windber Country Club shows two suspects burglarizing the establishment overnight.
Adams Township Police say the suspects broke in just before 3 a.m. Tuesday morning and targeted four Games of Skill machines, as well as the payout machine.
Video shows the suspects physically removing the payout machine.
Police say the machine was later found in the woods nearby, emptied of all the cash.

Ferndale woman charged with attempted vehicular assault after heated argument
A 31-yeard-old Ferndale woman has been charged, accused of trying to run down two people with a truck.
According to a probable-cause affidavit, on Sunday Lacey Hamilton, Vickroy Avenue, and two people had a heated argument at Hamilton’s home.
During the argument, Hamilton allegedly told the two that she was going to “kill” them.
The two people told police that Hamilton was “drunk and high.”
According to the affidavit, after the two people left the home following the argument, Hamilton drove a red Dodge Truck on a sidewalk along Ferndale Avenue and tried to strike the two — who were on foot.

Inflation slows for first time in 2024 after rocky start pushed back interest rate cut
WASHINGTON (TND) — Inflation slowed for the first time in 2024 last month after a hot start that pushed back the timeline for the Federal Reserve to begin cutting rates and raising concerns about prices staying higher for longer and requiring even higher interest rates to bring it under control.
The decline was modest, falling to 3.4% from 3.5% the year prior. On a month-to-month basis, prices increased by 0.3%. Core prices, which strip out volatile food and energy categories, reached the lowest level since April 2021 at 3.
