BLAIR COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Blair County officials say an Altoona man has been sentenced to serve decades behind bars after pleading guilty to his role in a 2021 arson and attempted homicide case. Daniel Sipes Jr. was one of two individuals arrested in early 2022 in connection to an arson investigation at a home along 5th Ave. in the city of Altoona. Forest Hills names Myers next head football coach

SIDMAN -- Forest Hills named its next football coach Thursday night at the school board meeting. The board approved Justin Myers to take the reigns following in the footsteps of storied head coach Don Bailey who retired after the end of last season. Myers is a Forest Hills graduate who played football there in the 1990's, and spent last season as an assistant on staff under Bailey. Owner of Westmoreland Co. eatery shot & killed outside his restaurant; suspect turns himself in

Westmoreland County, PA — Authorities in Westmoreland County say the owner of a Pennsylvania eatery was reportedly shot and killed outside his own restaurant Thursday morning in Lower Burrell. Investigators say just after 9 a.m., the owner of Mogie’s Pub, David Magill, was shot outside his business and later died while en route to the hospital. Vandalism causing thousands of dollars in damage at Blair County park

Authorities said over $2,000 in damages were caused in multiple vandalism attacks at Greenwood Park in Logan Township. Officials said the vandalism has come on at least three occasions over the last two weeks. Officials said those responsible broke into a shed at the park taking spray paint and using the paint to vandalize the playground. Devastating tornadoes wreak havoc in Ohio, leaving 3 dead and community in ruins

Cambria County, PA — Catastrophe striking a local family, from a fatal coal truck crash. 70-year-old, Leonard Hite was at judge David Beyer's office, on Wednesday. Police say 57-year-old Timothy Winters reportedly stole a “Vote Mary Tatum Commissioner” sign on Monday from outside of the Hyde Volunteer Fire Company.
