ALTOONA – An Allegheny County man has been arrested in Blair County after a drug-buy bust and search of his hotel room Thursday.
Altoona police said a confidential informant purchased two bricks, or 101 packets, of heroin from Louis Campbell, of Swissvale, at a restaurant on East Plank Road.
Campbell was arrested after the delivery and $1,656 was seized from his person, police said. Officers also searched his vehicle and a small amount of marijuana.

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — The Highspire Borough Manager confirmed today that the man who was charged with animal cruelty after police found his dog severely underweight is an officer for the Highspire Police Department.
According to a police report, officers found a dog owned by 51-year-old police officer Jeffery Scott Levan severely underweight in June of 2019.
Pictures obtained from a source show bones visibly protruding from the Golden/Labrador's body and sores on its leg.

The three people killed in chain reaction crashes on Interstate 80 Tuesday have been identified as a family from the state of Indiana.
The Centre County coroner’s office has identified the victims as a 48-year-old father, 49-year-old mother and their 20-year-old son from Porter County.
Officials say autopsies were completed Wednesday and found their causes of death to be blunt force trauma.
Their manner of deaths is accidental, the coroner’s office says.

UPDATE | Mifflin County, PA (WJAC) — State police announced late Wednesday that 26-year-old Trevor Middaugh, one of two men charged in the fatal shooting of a 25-year-old woman last month, has been taken into custody.
Police say Middaugh is awaiting arraignment.

Officials in Clearfield County say they were able to make the needed improvements to keep the operating license for their Children, Youth, and Family Services (CYFS) for at least the next six months. Commissioner Dave Glass says they haven’t been able to fix every problem yet, but the state says they are on the ‘right trajectory.’
On Monday, the Department of Human Services sent out a release saying they revoked the license for Blair County Children, Youth, and Families (BCCYF) due to multiple violations, including a large backlog of reports.

Blair Murphy, an independent filmmaker from Los Angeles, bought the Grand Midway Hotel with some friends 15 years ago. He soon turned the haunted attraction into an unusual home.
The Grand Midway Hotel is known as one of the most haunted places in Western Pennsylvania and it has gotten even spookier.
Murphy painted a 44-by-29-foot Ouija board with letters, numbers and words used to communicate with ghosts on top of his house.

(TND) — North Carolina school officials are being accused of violating a student's constitutional rights after suspending him for saying the words "illegal aliens" in class.
The Liberty Justice Center filed a lawsuit this week against the Davidson County Board of Education in Lexington, North Carolina, on behalf of a 16-year-old student. An assistant principal at the school is also named in the suit.
The boy, Christian McGhee, asked a clarifying question in class that resulted in “a harsh suspension and false accusations of racism by his own school,” according to the Liberty Justice Center.
